8. Telephone & Network Use

Telephones and computer networks are intended to be used to support residents and to conduct business in the facility. While most facilities recognize the need for personal use of phones and computers, for any reason other than emergencies, we would like to adamantly discourage use as much as possible. Please seek permission from your supervisor beforehand if you feel the need to use a phone or device for personal use.

NOTE: Any operation done on the network of a facility might not be private. If asked to do so by management, IT workers will track all activity on the network.

An employee should not use a resident’s private telephone for personal use in any circumstances. A citizen who needs assistance to make a phone call can be given assistance. (Such as dialing a telephone number)
